Hecate’s name is the same in both Japanese and English. \u00a0She is named after the Greek\u00a0goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts and necromancy.<\/p>\n

Despite her tomboyish nature, Hecate is an extremely pretty young girl, with huge bright eyes.<\/p>\n

Although both her parents (Mephisto and\u00a0Madam Hell<\/a>)\u00a0are desperate for\u00a0her to become ladylike and marry Prince Franz<\/a>\u00a0–\u00a0\u00a0to the point of trying\u00a0to\u00a0steal Sapphire<\/a>‘s female heart and implant it in her –\u00a0Hecate has no interest in giving up her wild days of adventuring and turning into a cat just for kicks.<\/p>\n

Although she has no known appearances outside her debut role as Mephisto’s daughter “Hecate” in Princess Knight<\/em> [Shojo Club] (1953-56)<\/a>, and as\u00a0Madam Hell<\/a>‘s daughter “Hecate” in the Princess Knight<\/em> [Nakayoshi] (1963-66)<\/a>\u00a0remake, she was a memorable and integral part of the supporting cast in both versions.<\/p>\n
