<\/a>Shonen Illustrated<\/em> Shonen Illustrated (\u5c11\u5e74\u753b\u5831)<\/span>, published by Shonen Gahosha, was home to several of Osamu Teukza’s serialized works. Although relatively popular in the 1950s – featuring such works as The Cactus Kid<\/em>\u00a0(1951-54)<\/a>, Cyrano the Hero<\/em> (1953)<\/a>, and Super Taiheiki <\/em>(1958-59) – by the early 1960s circulation had become a bit sluggish due to competition from other adventure manga magazines aimed at young boys. However, with the publication of Ambassador Magma<\/em> (1965-67)<\/a> circulation began to pick up.<\/p>\n Ambassador Magma<\/em> (1965-67)<\/a> began its run in the May 1965 issue and concluded in the August 1967. However, because Osamu Tezuka had spread himself so thin – working on other series including Wonder 3<\/em>\u00a0(1965-66)<\/a>, Big X <\/em>(1963-66), and Princess Knight<\/em>\u00a0[Nakayoshi] (1963-64)<\/a> – the second half of the “Cyclops Arc” was drawn by two other manga artists, Satoshi Inoue and Kazuyoshi Fukumoto.<\/p>\n As such, and as per Osamu Tezuka’s wishes, the three volumes of the Osamu Tezuka Complete Manga Works<\/em><\/a> editions (MT-186<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0MT-187<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0MT-188<\/a>) conclude after the “Black Garon Arc” with the February 1967 issue.<\/p>\n
