Nylon, any synthetic plastic material composed of polyamides of high molecular weight and usually, but not always, manufactured as a fibre.<\/p>\n
Another of Tezuka’s “large nose” stars, Nylon is a tall, lanky fellow with a long, tube-shaped nose.<\/p>\n
Despite being a secondary star held to supporting roles, Nylon is a performer with great range. if you look closely at his performances, you’ll see that much like his namesake, he’s a flexibly – some might say pliable – performer, who can play both a villain and a hero. Not one for half measures, when given the opportunity, he will really throw himself into the role and give it his all.<\/p>\n
Nylon, like Duralumin, made his debut in Princess Knight<\/em> [Shojo Club] (1953-56)<\/a>, but he’s probably best remembered by English-speaking readers for the revival of his villainous henchman role as Sir Nylon in Princess Knight\u00a0<\/em>[Nakayoshi] (1963-66)<\/a>. An energetic performance, his single-minded attempts to kill Sapphire carry on by sheer inertia even after the main villain, Duralumin’s, death.\u00a0 On the other hand, many fans will surprised by his heroic death as Number 4 – a member of the Earth Defence Force – in Number 7<\/em> (1961-63).
