You won’t confuse Don with Teukza’s other canine hero, (Flying) Ben<\/a>. Don has tall, straight ears, with a smooth and spotted black coat.<\/p>\n

Don is an Anubis Hound from Egypt – a breed of dog related to the Pharaoh Hound and possibly to the Doberman Pinscher. He’s fiercely loyal, strong, and trust-worthy – the perfect brave canine companion for his master, a young boy named Tadasu Nagano. In short, he’s a good boy.<\/p>\n

Notable Roles<\/h3>\n

Ben is easily recognizable as the titular canine hero of the\u00a0Lion Books<\/em> short story “Don and Muse” (1972). Besides his starring co-role, he has also made one cameo appearance in Black Jack<\/a><\/em> (1973-83).<\/p>\n
