Squarely in the “don’t blink or you’ll miss him” category of Tezuka’s supporting characters, Yottsun and his wife Mittsun<\/a> are a\u00a0husband-and-wife duo who specialize in fading into the background.<\/p>\n He is most often cast in a “walk-on” role as a hospital orderly, a police officer\u00a0or as any number of “men-on-the-street”. \u00a0Even in his most substantive roles he simply delivers one-liners as a messenger or some other sort of servant or minion.<\/p>\n Although none of his roles are particularly “notable”, his generally accepted debut was in Lost World<\/em> (1948).\u00a0 However, what is<\/em> notable is that he is arguably the oldest of all of Tezuka’s Stars. In fact, he and his wife, Mittsun<\/a>, were originally created by Osamu Tezuka and his younger brother when they were still young children.
