Chao’s name is the same in both Japanese and English – possibly derived from the work “chat<\/em>” which means “cat” in French.<\/p>\n

Distinguishing Features<\/h3>\n

In her original animal form, she is a small black cat, with a white face and pink ears. In her human form, she is a lovely young girl with a pink bow in her hair.<\/p>\n

Chao is\u00a0impetuous\u00a0little kitten who dreams of being a witch\u2019s black cat. \u00a0However, after\u00a0she befriends\u00a0Unico<\/a>, he\u00a0temporarily changes her into a young girl to comfort an\u00a0old woman the two think is a witch in the woods. \u00a0However, the more time she spends as a human, the more she likes it.<\/p>\n
