Garon.<\/p>\n
With his rock-like chiseled features it’s usually not hard to pick Garon out of a crowd… possibly also because he’s a giant.<\/p>\n
Being basically a weapon in rock-giant-form, Garon is pretty stoic. In fact, you might even say that Pick<\/a> is really the key to his heart. However, when Pick’s not there to guide him, Garon is emotionally cold and distant – perfect for him to be cast as a giant space monster adversary for Tezuka’s heroes, Astro Boy<\/a> and Magma<\/a>. His disconnection from humanity also makes his a good choice to lead a gang of crooks.<\/p>\n Garon got his big break as the rocky giant from outer-space in The Devil Garon<\/em> (1959-62), where he first meets his long-time partner, Pick. He also made memorable villainous appearances as a giant from outer-space in both Astro Boy<\/em> (1952-68)<\/a> as well as Ambassador Magma<\/em> (1965-67)<\/a>. However, i<\/span>n The White Pilot<\/em> (1961-62) he takes on the role of a human-sized gang boss.
